I received my BBA in mathematics and finance from Baruch College. Right now I am working towards my Master degree in Education. My major is a secondary math education, and I will be teaching math in a middle school this fall.
Since a childhood I was very passionate about math. I’ve been planning to pursue a carrier in financial engineering. After my children were born, my perspective has shifted, and I realized that there is nothing more interesting and exciting than to observe a child‘s mind reveal itself while learning and discovering new ideas and concepts. At that point I decided to become a teacher.
I strongly believe that mathematics is an important part of the development of a child. I see my task as a teacher not only in training children how to perform arithmetical operations but also to introduce them to the mathematics around them, to let them discover math concepts for themselves in our everyday life, feel it, touch it, play with it and enjoy it. Every child has great potentials and my role as a teacher is to show it the way to discover it.
